报告题目Spatio-temporal data and smart city

报告人:Dr. Quanjun Chen,Senior data scientist,LocationMind Inc.,Japan

Researcher, the University of Tokyo, Japan

报告摘要:

As urbanization progresses, we are facing an increasing number of urban issues. Also, the rapid development of IoT technology has enabled us to acquire a large amount of urban data. The integration ofurbanspatiotemporal data with smart citiestechnologiesprovides powerful tools and methods for solving urban problemsand managingurban services. In this talk,Dr. Chen willintroduce the application of spatiotemporal big data in smart cities from the perspective of data science, explainthecharacteristicsof urbandataandgeneralalgorithms.Finallyhe willdescribe how to mine the value of GPS trajectories, which play a key role in data-drivensmart cities,as well as the prospects of large language models in spatiotemporal sequence prediction tasks.

专家简介:

Dr. Quanjun Chen received his bachelor's degree from Hunan University in 2011, his master's degree from Beihang University in 2014, and his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2017. In the same year, he joined the Center for Spatial Information Science at the University of Tokyo as a postdoctoral researcher.Since2020, as a member of the founding team, he became a Senior Data Scientist at LocationMind Inc.

He has been engaged in research on spatiotemporal sequence prediction and related fields for a long time, including smart cities, data mining, and data-driven intelligent transportation systems. He has published more than 30 papers at well-known international conferences in the field of computer science and has participated in multiple data science competitions, winning several top national and international data competition awards. He has collaborated with companies such as Japan Highway Public Corporation and Yahoo Japan, with his research being applied to improve traffic congestion on Tokyo's highways and enhance Yahoo Japan's search services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as a key member of the research team, he established a simulation model for the spread of the epidemic in Tokyo, which played a significant role in controlling the outbreak and formulating prevention policies.
